Collection of taino inspired works

This collection is inspired by the Petroglyphs left behind by the native peoples of Puerto Rico, The Tainos. Looking through a book containing an extensive collection of drawings, I picked the ones that looked like babies for the simple reason that they looked "cute". They are made out of clay and painted with enamel.

Frida Kahlo Pony

One brilliant evening is when it all began. My fellow artist Ami Vega and I were thinking of new things to do and wishing we had large blank pony's like the ones from the "Pony Project" that we saw back in 2005. They would have cost us $500 a piece and clearly we didn't have that. I remembered seeing them online at a standard pony size and our brains set in motion. Being a much more fine art incline artist I choose to do a Frida Kahlo Pony. Once a gain with out much planning I embarked in a new artistic adventure with the supplies around me and a few new paints. Fridita K as I want to call her is done and ready to take on the world. She will be followed by a herd of others who will be just as fantastic and in many other themes. Right now I'm in the process of making Fridita K#2......
